Your shower base (also called a shower pan, shower receptor or shower floor) identifies the size and shape of your shower. Follow the link at right to see our selection of shower bases.
Most shower bases are made from acrylic, but some are fiberglass, cast iron or made from composite materials.
Composite shower bases are made of acrylic and a hard substrate additive, like silica or stone. Composite bases, like the bases offerd by Swanstone, are are extremely strong bases, with high resistance to damage. They also are available in several interesting colors, blends of colors and textures. You can choose white, or beige or choose an exotic blend of dark and light colors. Shower Bases - many options
We offer shower bases from most major base manufacturers: Swanstone, Kohler, Sterling and Jacuzzi. Our shower bases range in size from 32" x 32" to large 60" bases. Take a look at the unique Kohler Groove receptor - it offers a trench drain at the end allowing better utilization of the shower floor. The teak or aluminum cover can offer a unique design statement to your shower.
Shower bases come in many configurations. Most bases have the doorway or threshold on the long side, but some reverse shower bases are available with the threshold on the short side. The threshold is the entryway to the shower, providing a flat section for door installation. There are also double and triple threshold shower bases available--where glass panels can be installed on two or three sides, respectively.
Some bases come equipped with a seat; others are designed for replacing a bathtub in a tub to shower conversion. Square, rectangular and neo angle shower bases ("home base" shaped) are available. In some cases a complete shower unit, comprising of shower base, enclosure and shower door can be provided as one complete unit.
Shower bases can be customized with matching shower enclosures and doors--a complete shower unit. Some enclosures can be customized with trim, shampoo shelves, seats and grab bars, as required.

Equip Your Shower With a Seat
A shower with a seat can provide extra comfort and stability during the bathing process. There are many ways to install a seat into a shower:
- Shower bases with built-in seats
- Seats that fit into the corner of your shower
- Shower Enclosures with built-in seats
- Shower and tub chairs
Finding the right seating solution for your family will depend on your specific needs and the space with which you have to work.
If your main goal is "ample storage" in the shower--for example, you'd like to have someplace to set down your soaps and shampoos and sometimes sit and relax--a shower base or an enclosure unit with a built-in seat may be the type of arrangement for you. Because the seat is built into the base, it is made from the same easy-to-clean, non-slip material as the pan and wall panels. The eye is drawn to the attractiveness of the shower as a whole and not to any individual features.
Barrier Free - Universal Design
Safety in the shower is a concern for many people. We offer shower bases with barrier free thresholds. Some shower bases also include an entrance ramp and a low clearance threshold on the shower side, allowing easy wheelchair access. We also offer shower bases designed specifically for tub to shower conversion - with drains positioned on the right or left - to match your existing tub drain location. We also offer grab bars in various sizes and styles.
Purchasing a separate shower seat may be more suitable for a barrier free installation. A shower and tub chair provides a non-slip, sturdy seat in which a person can comfortably sit and wash. A removable seat that fits into the corner of the shower can be an alternative for small shower spaces. When the seat is not in use, store it away until needed.
