If you'd like to replace your bathtub with a shower, but you want to retain some comfort, consider getting an enclosure or base with a shower seat attached. This allows you to relax when you want to, without having to recline or climb over the side of a tub.
Jacuzzi, Kohler and Sterling all make shower bases with seats. These units are available in models that are 48 and 60 inches wide, with depths of 32 or 36 inches (standard bathtub sizes). None of these bases come with shower walls, so you'll have to purchase your coordinating parts separately. There are some enclosures, though, that also include a shower base and seat like the 62040100 all-in-one unit by Sterling.
